Basketball Attention Experiment
This game was used in a study by Simons and Chabris (1999) about sustained inattentional blindness. Players watch a video of people in a circle tossing two basketballs to each other and they are asked to count how many times the basketballs change hands. While focused on this task, players often fail to notice unexpected objects that appear in the scene.
