Erica Biely, M.A., is the Deputy Director for Health Games Research at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She has research experience in the fields of media research and communication. Before joining Health Games Research, Erica was a research specialist for the Department of Communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara and an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Communication at Santa Barbara City College and Allan Hancock College.  Prior to that, she was a research consultant on several large scale grants with the Kaiser Family Foundation, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Children Now.  She holds a master's degree in communication from the University of Arizona and a B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
